Your trip...

Arches, canyons, monuments, the stars, the milky way, sunrise, and sunsets!

Join The Photo Pros on this breath-taking trip to Utah and Arizona.  Your main guide Stephen has been to Monument Valley 7 times and Moab twice. He knows the area and the perfect spots for photography. This trip will be limited to 6 or 7 participants. We will drive a 15-passenger van from Moab to the sites and then to Monument Valley and back.

As a special added item…Stephen has invited another photographer, Frank Tona. Frank worked in the photography industry just like Stephen and has retired and will be a great addition to this trip as an instructor! View his FB page https://www.facebook.com/frank.tona.31

To make this trip enjoyable and less time traveling we will fly into Moab and rent our van, stay there for 4 nights, then move to Monument Valley for 2 nights and on the last night a quick drive back to Moab for a flight the next day. The flights to Moab are running about $350 at the time this was published…we recommend you BUY YOUR AIRLINES TICKETS NOW!

The first night we will all check into the Comfort Suites Moab near Arches National Park and go to dinner.  We will discuss the plans for next day and more!

As our trip starts the next morning with an early morning sunrise at Arches and the tour around the grounds to see the various monuments/arches and more. We could spend days here! Mid-day we will take a long lunch and relax for a couple of minutes. Then head out for the Sunset, dinner the night sky and milky way photography. Over the next few days, we will also visit…Dead Horse Point State Park, Canyon Lands (both entrances), and an incredible drive we found that is should only take 2 hours…but we took 8 on our last one because it’s so wonderful. (Depending on the group and its decisions…we can shoot all day or have a break during the day.) And due to the groups size we won’t need reservation and can make decision on where to eat depending on the sky!!!

Next, we take a short afternoon drive to Kayenta Az and check into the Monument Valley Inn. We have stayed here several times and it’s a mid-level hotel in the city.  We will meet up with my native
Navajo friend of 20 years Leanndra and shoot the late afternoon and sunset. We get up the next day for a full day in the park. You won’t believe what you will see. Everything from tall monuments to valleys with grass on one side and rocks on the other. The weather may change completely during the day…we will be prepared.  That evening dinner and the night sky fun or even special photography items we will bring. There are a few local places to eat, and several “fast food” joints the group can decide.  Depending on the weather…we have even eaten out in the park under the sky!

The last morning, we will again photograph the “mittens” and sunrise. Then a couple of hours in the park again the head to Moab, back to the hotel for a final dinner. We will leave the 8th day from the Moab airport and journey home.

We will have several classes prior to the trip to prepare you for the adventure…we will give you a complete list of equipment needed and everything else.

Due to changes in the weather…we reserve the right to move/change location at any time. We call these the “Grand Poohbah rule”. We are photographers and move with the light and sky!

This will be a wonderful trip since we have traveled here many times…so get ready for an adventure.

VERY IMPORTANT.

1.      We may “walk or trek” about a mile or slightly more on uneven ground for the best position to see the arches etc.

2.      We will require you to sign a “general” release – prior to the trip. It’s on the website for your viewing pleasure.

3.      We recommend getting insurance for the trip. Try Square mouth insurance…great prices and rates.

4.      $500 deposit required – if for any reason we cancel the trip – you get a full refund.

5.      Non photographers/phone may join this group too at the same rate.

6.      If you own a drone…bring it for some wonderful photography outside the “official” parks.

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY...

By December 25th...we will give a “final” notice. You must pay in full then or ask for a refund.  After that we cannot offer a refund unless we get one. We try to be fair but pay in advance for good rates.  FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE BEFORE THE 31ST!!  The group will be traveling as a unit and due to Covid we may have to cancel - the company will determine this.   If you choose to pay in full before the 25th.  The same rules apply.  You can cancel if you want by the 25th of December.
