Ready to finally get your camera off Auto? Join us for our Zero to Hero Photography Workshop, an immersive hands-on experience designed for beginners who want to understand their camera and start creating amazing photographs.
Limited to just 8 participants to ensure plenty of personal attention and hands-on learning.
Personalized Instruction
We maintain a 1 instructor for every 4 participants ratio throughout the day. This small-group approach ensures you receive individualized coaching, immediate feedback, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions while shooting in the field.
Schedule
8:30 AM – Classroom Session at the Store
We begin with a comprehensive two-hour classroom presentation covering the fundamentals of photography, including:
• Camera buttons, dials, and menus
• Understanding exposure
• ISO explained
• Aperture and depth of field
• Shutter speed and motion control
• Shooting modes and when to use them
• Basic composition techniques
You’ll leave this session with a clear understanding of how your camera works and how to take creative control of your images.
Hands-On Field Training
Faust Park
After the classroom session, we’ll head to beautiful Faust Park for practical shooting exercises, including:
• Portrait photography fundamentals
• Working with natural light
• Basic landscape photography
• Composition in outdoor environments
• Learning to see and use available light
Lunch Included
Enjoy lunch on us while discussing photography, reviewing images, and preparing for the afternoon session.
Old Town St. Charles
The afternoon continues in historic Old Town St. Charles where you’ll practice:
• Environmental portraiture
• Street and candid photography
• Architectural photography
• Creative composition techniques
• Landscape and scenic photography
Final Location: Creve Coeur Lake Park
Our final destination will be Creve Coeur Lake Park, where you’ll put your new skills to work in a variety of real-world situations.
Subjects and techniques include:
• Waterfall photography
• Capturing motion and movement
• Photographing people in motion
• Learning how to freeze action with shutter speed
• Understanding when to blur motion creatively
• Working with changing light conditions
• Advanced composition and timing
This session ties together everything learned throughout the day and gives you the confidence to handle a variety of photographic situations.
