Join **The Photo Pros** October 4–8, 2026 for a five-day photography adventure through the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks.

We drive you!

Fall will just be arriving in the mountains, bringing a wonderful mixture of green, yellow, orange and red to the forests and valleys. Rather than waiting for only one brief week of peak color, we'll photograph the Ozarks as the season begins to change—combining colorful mountain landscapes, waterfalls, rivers, dramatic overlooks, wildlife and scenic roads.

During our trip, we plan to visit and photograph **more than 12 different locations**, including **Boxley Valley, Steel Creek, the Buffalo National River, Jasper, the Arkansas Grand Canyon, Haw Creek Falls, Falling Water Falls, Six Finger Falls, Mount Magazine, Petit Jean State Park, Cedar Falls Overlook, Mather Lodge and Stout's Point.** Every day will offer something different—from elk and early-morning fog in the Buffalo River country to waterfalls surrounded by autumn foliage, towering limestone bluffs, sweeping mountain views and beautiful sunset landscapes.

This trip has been designed **for photographers**. We'll be at our locations when the light is best, and we'll have time to actually create photographs—not simply get out of the car, take a snapshot and leave. Along the way, we'll help you with composition, camera settings, filters, exposure and techniques that can make a major difference in your photography.

One of our special teaching opportunities will be photographing Arkansas's waterfalls. We'll show you how to create beautiful **“whispy water” photographs**, using slower shutter speeds to turn moving water into a soft, flowing effect while keeping the rocks, trees and surrounding landscape sharp. We'll work with tripods, shutter speed, ISO, aperture and polarizing or neutral-density filters so you can learn the technique and then practice it yourself at several different waterfalls.

We'll photograph sunrise in the mountains, waterfalls and cascades, elk and landscapes in Boxley Valley, the Buffalo National River and its towering bluffs, the spectacular views from Mount Magazine and Petit Jean, and beautiful evening light across the Arkansas valleys.

And we've intentionally selected locations that require **very little walking**. There are **no planned photography hikes longer than 1 mile round-trip**, making this a photography adventure rather than a hiking trip. You must be able to walk on uneven ground without any issues, we are walking, but some of the trails are rocky.
