Dial "M" for Manual - Learn the photographic triangle!

**Dial M for Manual**

Do you...

  • Want to Learn the Photographic Triangle — and How to Use It
  • Want to Learn to Shoot in Manual Mode?
  • Have an old film camera?
  • Have a new digital camera?

Whether your camera is 50 years old or brand new, understanding Manual Mode will make you a better photographer.

Today’s modern cameras are incredibly smart—but they **don’t know what you want your photograph to look like.** Older film cameras are much simpler and depend on **you** to choose the proper settings.

Manual Mode puts **you in control**.

In this class, you’ll learn how the three parts of the "Photographic Triangle" work together:

Aperture — controls how much light enters the camera and how much of your photograph appears in focus.

Shutter Speed — controls motion. Learn how to freeze action, create intentional blur, or show movement.

ISO — controls the camera’s sensitivity to light and affects both exposure and image quality.

But the real goal isn’t simply memorizing three camera settings.

It’s learning - why you would choose one setting over another

- to create the photograph you have in mind.

You’ll also learn how to use your camera’s **light meter**, how to recognize when an image may be too bright or too dark, and how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO work together to create the proper exposure.

If you’ve ever wondered why your photographs are **too dark, too bright, blurry, or simply don’t look the way you imagined**, this class is for you.

By the end of the class, we want you to be able to pick up your camera and think:

"I know what I want this photograph to look like—and I know how to make my camera do it.”

"Stop letting your camera make all the decisions"

Take control of your camera. Take control of your photography.
